Located within the volcanic landscape of Hverfjall, the project creates a sheltered refuge from Iceland's harsh climate through a layered timber envelope that gently integrates with the terrain.

The building is organized around two square geometries: a translucent central core containing the primary program and an outer envelope defining a protected circulation space. Framed openings establish visual connections with the volcano, while the rotated core guides movement and diffuses natural light throughout the interior. Elevated above the rocky ground, the intervention minimizes its impact on the site while fostering a contemplative relationship between architecture and landscape.
